Tosan

As anyone who reads this blog knows, I’ve been struggling with the streetstyle side of things lately. Well, Tosan made it prettttty hard to walk by without snapping a pic. I asked Tosan to stop, and it turns out she was part of the crew I was supposed to meet up with on Saturday night ( I ended up going out wayyyy too late). Anyway, Tosan is a good friend of MY good friend Mo, a fellow Haligonian bloggger at Curvy Geekery and MAN OH MAN does she look good in head-to-toe coral. Do you even BELIEVE she can pull this off? Did you even believe it was possible? Well done, Tosan. I point my monochromatic hat to you. Tosan works at a school (Can you believe I didn’t ask which one?) in Career Services. Color, in case you couldn’t tell, is her number one inspiration and prints fall closely behind. The girl can thrift like no other (Just like Mo can) and loves the blog Beauty Crush. Tosan is originally from Nigeria and has been in Halifax for five years.

Olivia

Sweet Olivia is the daughter of a co-worker of mine who couldn’t resist taking this photo and passing it along to me. Olivia takes the record for youngest fashionista to ever grace the pages of youlookfiiine.com and man has she set the bar! Julie was on her way for a run and discovered five year old Olivia wanted to join her – after shuffling around in her closet and play clothes she came out in her best work out gear. Move over Olivia Newton-John… This Olivia is gettin’ physical (I can’t take credit for this wit – it was her momma that said this line)!!!  Complete with the headband, leopard leg warmers and pink H&M Scottie Puppy tights. TOO MUCH.

Christa

Christa is a school teacher and I can just imagine how much all of the children love her and her sweet disposition. She reminds me of a more stylish, vintage loving Ms. Honey from the film Matilda. You know the one? Christa LIVES (and loves) to shop at Dressed in Time. She just moved back from Calgary and is getting re-acquainted with all her beloved downtown shops. Her pup, Zoe was the perfect accessory. I loved her lip color and her ballin’ frames (and everything else!).

Emma aka Baby Sis

Even though she’s younger me I have always been totally mad jealz of my sister’s fat closet and mini waist line. I love Emma’s style because she loves an expensive piece as much as she loves a $10 shirt from Urban Planet in the Lancaster Mall.  Her dress is from Suzy Shier (see what I mean?) and her coat is from Olsen. This is her worker girl outfit and I might I say, dang – she looks fiiine.

William

This Newfoundlander has Halifax written all over him!

William's a guy you wouldn't mind sitting down and sharing a brew with.

William. When I was walking home after work, ready to get my long weekend started, I walked by William. You read that right – I WALKED by. The whole while thinking ‘damnit damnit damnit’. I know you can see where this is going – so I’ll get to it. I got about ten paces past William and decided to turn the hell around and ask this tattooed, Rayban wearing, blundstone sporting and beer drinking dude for a photo and a couple of questions. William is from Newfoundland, brews his own beer and finds inspiration in his dads sense of style – even though Poppa don’t have no tattoos! This really plucked my heart strings – what girl doesn’t love a guy who loves his Dad?

Karen has been VERY patiently awaiting her post. Every week my galpals and I get together for Winesday – it’s all in the name (i’m sure there’s no explanation necessary). Karen had the boots of my dreams, red pants to SCREAM for and a cool top in a cool color. The kicker for me, was, her kicks! Those are a GEM of a pair of Fluevog’s purchased from Mahone Bay Trading Company – if y’all ain’t ever been there, I suggest you go!

Bree

Bree looks fiiine on Spring Garden and Queen

These blue beauties caught my eye in the sunshine!

Photographed on Friday, Bree is the perfect girl for a snowy day like today to remind us of warmer weather. Bree is SEVENTEEN, grew up in NEW YORK and was really the cherry on the top of my day. I love floral pants, I love a denim jacket and I LOVE a scarf (especially when it’s leopard print). So much texture! Bree is a Dal Science student, is open to any and all styles and likes to read Seventeen and Glamour magazines.

Brad

How could I ever walk by a tie, letting it go undocumented? I COULDN’T. Brad is a visual (for a software company, if I remember correctly) and, fittingly, allows his style to influenced by the design world. He ties ties once or twice a week, is from Saint John, NB ( ME TOO) and reads booooooom.com and Vice Magazine on the reg’.

Joy

GAD DAMN

I jumped for JOY (too much? too obvious?) when I saw this gal walking into American Apparel. So much so that I interrupted her shopping and dragged her outside to get her photo taken. Joy is TWENTY YEARS OLD and from Toronto (saw that one coming from a mile away). I don’t even need to tell you what’s so awesome about Joy, do I? If the awesome style, killer smile and BAD ASS hair do (kinda’) evade you then I’m just not even sure what to say. Possibly one my fave fiiinds. Evah!

Josh

Well everyone, there’s a new guy in town (and he’s only staying for the weekend). It’s been a while since I photographed a dude and Josh was just what I was waiting for. Who doesn’t love a kway jacket? Who doesn’t love raybans? Who doesn’t love a guy in a baseball cap? And lastly (cause you’re probably over the questions), who doesn’t love a guy with a bang on shade of denim with a rolled up cuff? I really like what Josh has going on with his shoes. You know?  And guys, he LOVES these shoes. He got them at Banana Republic on SALE. $150 down to $30. Josh is from Toronto, goes to school in Fredericton and is in town for the weekend.
